Traffic Engineer

This Victorian municipality located in the south eastern suburbs Melbourne has an immediate requirement for a Traffic Engineer to come on board on a short term contract.
If you are hardworking, reliable and can prove yourself in this short term vacancy, our client has the budget in place and will be prepared to take you on permanently.
Key Responsibilities:

To undertake investigations and make recommendations on traffic and transport issues affecting the community and municipality.

You will be conducting all transport services, including traffic modelling, traffic safety, development and analysis of transport plans, traffic impact assessments, and more general transport project evaluation

Undertake the assessment of Town Planning proposals with regard to traffic impact

Undertake surveys and site inspections

Liaise with service authorities, statutory agencies and community representatives on traffic and transport issues.

You will ensure that traffic and transport infrastructure associated with developments is provided to meet the community’s needs and Council’s standards and expectations.
The successful candidate will have:

A tertiary qualification in engineering or related discipline

Circa 4 years experience in traffic and transport engineering in local or state government is highly advantageous.

An understanding of municipal traffic and transport issues related to existing urban areas, new subdivisions and growth area planning.

The ability to keep up to date with Traffic Engineering Practices, Codes, Regulations and Acts.
