Aspect is recruiting Two Senior Product Design Engineers to join Nissan’s Melbourne operation and specialise in their Service and Accessory division – one Mechanical and one Electrical.

Reporting to the National Service and Accessory Engineering Manager, you will join the company as a senior engineer/product designer. You will contribute to the development and design of parts, accessories and components for existing and future car models to ensure the brands strong image, reliability, position and marketability, well into the future.

These parts and components will include all of the add on, after market and mandatory fit items for their car models which include, reverse sensors and cameras, blue tooth connectivity, airbags controls, stereos and HI FI systems and after market lighting etc from the electrical side and accessory components such as bumper bars, headlight covers, roof racks, tow bars etc from the mechanical side. 

Other responsibilities will include conducting test programs for new parts, liaison with internal groups and external stakeholders for the development and production of these parts, coordination of suppliers and manufacturers and also the approval of the carryover of existing components to new models.

Working in a key senior role you will have involvement in achieving quality KPI's and the analysis of returned parts and warranty claims in order to improve design and production standards moving forward. You will also be involved in planning initiatives for ongoing engineering involvement in future business locally, nationally and abroad.    

To be considered you will have had extensive experience working within the local automotive market and be equipped with a degree or qualification in mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering and possess the 'soft skills' essential to perform the project management component of this position.
